Vale provides funeral assistance

Benefits include notary, burial and cash assistance expenses

​Vale is providing funeral assistance and covering expenses of the families affected by the Dam I breach of the Córrego do Feijão Mine in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, irrespective of whether they are direct, third-party employees or members of the community.

Funeral assistance is provided through a specialized company. Coverage includes procedures such as notary expenses, including death certificates, local transportation of the deceased, urns, ornaments, graves, burial etc.

To assist the families of the victims, a specialized team is on duty at the Instituto Médico Legal (IML). Psychosocial services are also available at the Service Centers or through the company contact channels, details below.

In addition to the assistance, funeral expenses will be paid to the families of the victims, to the amount of R$3,928.34, after identification of the beneficiary and confirmation of their registration and banking data.
 
Other services
A team of volunteers and professionals, including physicians, psychologists, social workers and nurses, are available to support the victims and family members at the Help Centers.

Vale has already provided about 10,200 pharmaceutical items and the volume of mineral water delivered already exceeds 7,900 liters. The company also is providing accommodation for the community. Support for victims and their families remains the company's priority.
