Vale allocates R$2.6 million to improve humanitarian aid in Brumadinho

Vale, and the Brumadinho City Government, have signed a cooperation agreement that establishes the contract, by the city government, of multidisciplinary teams to work on psychological, social, and health care issues, of those affected by the breach of Dam I at the Córrego do Feijão mine.
This agreement, signed on Monday (February 18), also includes the purchase of equipment and materials required to provide these services, as well as 20 vehicles for transporting the specialists, and everything the emergency services need to provide their services. This improvement of humanitarian aid in the region will include 142 new public servants, such as doctors, psychologists, social assistants, nurses, and drivers, among others.
The Brumadinho City Government will provide the training, with a contract in force for six months, which will be extended, if required, and complies with the court decision, concerning the public-interest civil action, proposed by the Prosecution Office of Minas Gerais. An independent external audit, contracted by Vale, will monitor and inspect the activities.
