UTP students visit TRMT

MANJUNG, October 12 – Vale in Malaysia hosted 66 mechanical engineering students from the Universiti Tekhnologi PETRONAS (UTP) on a technical site visit of the Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT) today.

The visit provided a platform for the students to learn about Vale’s operations in Malaysia and beyond, and understand the company’s commitment to net zero, sustainability and social responsibility.

At the end of the session, Vale in Malaysia’s Chief Maintenance Planning Officer Mohammad Faizal Hadi reaffirmed Vale’s commitment towards becoming a talent-driven organization that values diversity and champions inclusion in all areas of its operations. “To truly transform, we aim to have the best people to work in Vale. It’s not only about being at the top performer in school or having a certain background, but it is also about embracing the shared values that define our organization.”

Second-year student Ahmad Afzal Thaiubudeen said of the visit as “an informative learning session and experience. I genuinely enjoyed this session and seeing all the innovative equipment used on the site.”

The students also received a briefing from Vale on the opportunities available in the organization, including the company’s Global Trainee Program, which was introduced in Malaysia last year.
