Procurement Transformation Program

On March 17, 2025, we launched the first phase of the Procurement Transformation Program. This initiative aims to simplify, expedite, and enhance the efficiency of doing business with Vale by adopting new technologies and streamlining purchasing processes. In this initial phase, we have introduced the Coupa Platform, which replaces the Nimbi Portal. Here are some key details that you, our valued partner, should know:
 

About the program 

This strategic initiative is designed to transform our procurement management processes. By implementing the Coupa platform, we are bringing innovation and efficiency to our operations, which will enhance collaboration and communication with our supplier partners. 

Important note: this change is applicable only to orders and quotations from Vale S.A. (Iron Ore). Suppliers working with Vale Base Metals will continue to use the Supplier Portal (Nimbi). Those supplying to both Vale S.A. and Vale Base Metals will need to utilize both platforms (Coupa and Nimbi). Currently, there are no changes to the systems for Vale Bale Metals. 
 

How do I register on the Coupa platform? 

The registration process begins with an invitation from Vale. It is essential for our suppliers to register on the platform and accept the terms of agreement in order to continue doing business with Vale S.A. (Iron Ore).

Once registered and terms accepted, how do I access the platform? 

You can access the platform through the Vale website > I am a Supplier, or directly via https://supplier.coupahost.com 

Orders and quotations for Vale Base Metals: starting March 17, please access the Nimbi portal at https://tn002.nimbi.com.br/CompraWeb/   or vale.com/basemetals
