Vale's web series about women in the mining industry is produced and performed by women
The global episode of Mining by Women will air on November 30 and features the work routines of female employees from Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Oman, and Switzerland
The sixth and final episode of the Mining by Women web series -- a project conceived and produced by female Vale employees - will air on Monday (November 30). Through short videos, the web series presents narratives about the personal lives, work routines, and career paths of several Vale employees from operations to leadership, showing that women can find fulfilling work in the mining industry.
The final episode of the series brings a detailed overview of the activities performed by employees in countries where the mining company operates - such as Canada, Indonesia, Oman, and Switzerland. In the previous five episodes, viewers learned about the daily lives and work routines of professionals in different regions of Brazil in various positions such as an electrician in a pelletizing plant, and a mine engineer, biologist, and port operation technician.
Together, these women show how successful the female workforce is in technical, operational, and management areas of one of the world's largest mining companies.
Inspiration for other women
Last year, Vale set a goal to double its female workforce by 2030, from 13% to 26%. One of the goals of the web series, besides valuing the employees who already work at the company, is to inspire more women to build a career in the mining industry.
All episodes are available on the Internet via Vale's social media profiles. The videos, additional information about the characters, and profiles of other Vale employees arealso available on the Mining by Women page of the company's website.
