Vale brings festive joy to 200 families in Manjung

MANJUNG, December 6 – Vale has collaborated with the Lions Club of Lumut Legacy (formerly known as Lioness Club of Sitiawan) to deliver festive assistance to 200 families in Manjung today for the upcoming Christmas celebrations.

The initiative sees the distribution of RM30,000 worth of food care packages comprising pasta, sauces, spices, cookies, candy and more to aid the community and bring joy as they prepare for an important occasion in their calendar.

Leonardo Paiva, CEO of Vale in Malaysia said, “We are honoured to collaborate with the Lions Club of Lumut Legacy by providing targeted assistance that will help the community here prepare for a meaningful Christmas celebration this year”.

The distribution of the Christmas assistance is a culmination of the Senyum @ Vale’ year-long festive outreach programme for Vale, which has benefited over700 recipients this year, incurring an investment of RM140,000.

“Vale believes in the importance of active listening in our engagements with the communities. Through our outreach programme every festive season, we have garnered a better understanding of the Manjung communities’ needs and aspirations, and this will help us to develop a more effective community empowerment strategy for the district next year,” Leonardo added.

Since Vale established its operations at Teluk Rubiah, it has invested close to RM70 million towards building inclusive community development in Perak, together with local authorities, partners and community leaders. Recently, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Majlis Perbandaran Manjung (MPM) to invest up to RM5.6 million to foster sustainable urban development in the district, through strategic initiatives, such as community farming in Seri Manjung, and a heritage-focused urban rejuvenation in Beruas.
