We are awarding up to three exceptional youth of Manjung, Perak this year to enroll in the second batch of the Teluk Rubiah Scholarship Programme (“TRSP”).
TRSP is an elite educational support programme, modelled after some of Malaysia’s most prestigious scholarship programmes. The programme is designed to provide opportunities for the most exceptional students in Manjung to pursue a world-class tertiary education that prepares them for a global career.

Full Scholarship
We provide comprehensive coverage of expenses, including tuition fees, laptop, related expenses such as books, visa, flight, and allowances for accommodation and living expenses.
World Class Education
Recipient of the award will have the opportunity to study at a foreign university with a satellite campus in Malaysia with a world-class reputation.
Employment
Upon the completion of their tertiary education, scholarship recipients will be assessed and considered for employment at Vale, a leading mining company with presence in close to 30 countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- A citizen of Malaysia and a Manjung local, fulfilling the following baseline criteria;
- Born in Manjung or has spent at least 10 years of life in the district.
- Parental / Guardian combine income not exceeding MYR 15,000/month (gross, as at May 2024)
- Applicants who conducted the SPM examination in 2023, in a school in Manjung.
- Aspires to pursue a career in the Mechanical Engineering or Accounting/Finance line.
- Achieved exceptional SPM results with an excellent academic track record, as defined by Vale.
At least straight A’s, with:
(i) A+ in Mathematics
(ii) A+ / A in Physics, Additional Mathematics and Chemistry and English
In the event where less than 10 applicants had passed the above criteria; the following flexibility could be exercised, upon agreement by the selection committee;
At least straight A’s, with:
(i) A+ in Mathematics, and
(ii) A in Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English
For the Accounting/Finance scholarship, the following academic standards are applied:
At least straight A’s, with:
(i) A+ in Mathematics, English
In the event where less than 10 applicants had passed the above criteria; the following flexibility could be exercised, upon agreement by the selection committee;
At least straight A’s, with:
(i) A in Mathematics and English
In the event there are not enough (minimum of 10) candidates scoring straight As for both scholarship tracks (Mechanical Engineering and Accounting/Finance), Vale will consider candidates with one or two non-A subjects.
Additional requirements:
- Applicant must not be a recipient of any other scholarship that comes with contractual obligations such as a service bond;
- Where applicable, Vale has the discretionary right to assess the benchmark that defines academic excellence.
Selection Process
STAGE 1
Academic and background selection process, based on the minimum requirements published by Vale on its external communications platforms.
STAGE 2
A solo interview session; conducted virtually by at least two members of the selection committee. Depending on the number of applicants at Stage 2, a group interview may be conducted on top of the solo interview session to better gauge the candidate’s behavioral and cultural fit for Vale.

Successful candidates will begin their Foundation Programme at the earliest date deemed suitable by Vale. Only applications made on the official digital form (accessed through the link above) will be considered. Vale does not accept any application on any other platform.
