Foster Children Scholarships
Education shapes individuals and society, fostering personal growth and community contributions. It boosts job prospects, economic growth, and cultivates strong mental, moral, and social values, thereby influencing regional progress. Despite the importance of quality education as a universal right, obstacles like limited access, high costs, and limited opportunities hinder higher education. In East Luwu Regency, many undergraduate graduates aspire to pursue advanced degrees but face financial constraints, forcing them to work after completing their bachelor's degrees.
Therefore, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk has a firm commitment to participate in increasing access to quality tertiary education by launching a program to provide tuition assistance for outstanding students who come from and are domiciled in the East Luwu district who come from underprivileged families. The undertaken program involves offering tuition assistance to exceptional students originating from and residing in the East Luwu district, particularly those hailing from underprivileged backgrounds.This scholarship program has a big goal of increasing the number of East Luwu residents who receive assistance for master's and doctoral education by up to 10 people and a minimum of 50 people at elementary and high school levels. So it is hoped that improving the quality of educational resources will encourage sustainable development in East Luwu.
Impact to Wellbeing:
Elevating the count of East Luwu inhabitants benefitting from educational support, reaching a minimum of 20 individuals pursuing Master's degrees and at least 10 individuals pursuing Doctoral degrees. Notably, in 2021 alone, a total of IDR 200,000,000 was allocated for scholarships catering to S2-S3 levels. This strategic investment further emphasizes the commitment to nurturing East Luwu's human capital, aiming to bolster the integration of adept professionals and propel sustainable development within the region.
