Utilization of Used Oil as Fuel in Dryers and Reduction Kilns

Used oil is a waste generated in the workshop and maintenance areas of heavy equipment and light vehicles during PT Vale Indonesia's operational activities. It is classified as hazardous waste, requiring extensive processing efforts to mitigate the environmental risks it poses. It is crucial to use this waste optimally as improper disposal or management can lead to soil and water contamination, affecting both the environment and human health.

PT Vale utilizes hazardous waste in the form of used oil produced from the workshop and maintenance areas for heavy equipment and light vehicles. The use of this used oil has obtained a permit to utilize LB3 through the Decree of the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board of the Republic of Indonesia Number SK.39/1/KLHK/2021 concerning Extension of Permits for the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Wastes for the Activities of Utilizing Hazardous and Toxic Wastes on behalf of PT Vale Indonesia, Tbk.
